DLSMHSI Green Sentinels

In December 2023, DLSMHSI launched its new athletic moniker and icon, the ‘GREEN SENTINELS’, which embodies our commitment to safeguarding Lasallian values.

'Green' symbolizes growth, harmony, and the vibrant spirit of the Lasallian community, while the term 'Sentinels' signifies our role as vigilant guardians or protectors, dedicated to upholding the principles of faith, service, communion, and reverence for life. This dynamic combination reflects the Institution's mission to nurture our students, patients, employees, partners, and other stakeholders, while remaining vigilant champions of the revered Lasallian values.

DESCRIPTION OF THE GREEN SENTINELS ICON

The KNIGHT symbolizes DLSMHSI’s valiant pursuit of quality in higher education, healthcare, and research, and its commitment to safeguarding the community entrusted to its care, while also upholding honor, courage, and loyalty which are virtues historically associated with knights.

The knight’s SUIT OF ARMOR (shield, cape, and helmet) generally represents God's protection. The items are in green and white, the official colors of Lasallian schools in the Philippines. Green also signifies 'Reverence for Life,' a Lasallian Value unique to DLSMHSI, while white is associated with sterility and professionalism—attributes relatable to al and allied health professionals.

The HORSE reflects strength and vitality, depicting DLSMHSI’s pursuit of robust health and well-being.

The LASALLIAN STAR (Signum Fidei) is a sign of faith and hope, and the symbol of the De La Salle Brothers (Fraternum Scholarum Christianarum).

The BROKEN CHEVRON embodies the resilience of Johan Salla, an ancestor of de La Salle, who, despite having his legs broken in combat, stood firm and fought. It also represents the resilient and collaborative spirit within the DLSMHSI community, where mentorship and shared knowledge guide the way, reflecting a commitment to Instilling courage, fortitude, and dedication in successive generations.

The CADUCEUS features a staff with two entwined serpents and wings at the top, and is often associated with the medical profession and healthcare.
